Langley Voices Join a Worldwide Celebration for World Singing Day
LANGLEY, B.C. — On Saturday, October 17, voices will be raised in communities around the world for World Singing Day — and Langley is joining the celebration.
Peace Arch Chorus and guest performers Soundscape A Cappella Chorus will gather at the Spirit Stage in Douglas Park at 11:00 a.m. for a free World Singing Day event that invites the community not only to listen, but to take part.
World Singing Day is a global sing-along held annually on the third Saturday in October. People of all ages, backgrounds and singing abilities gather in communities around the world to sing together and celebrate our common humanity.
The Langley event will feature performances by both Peace Arch Chorus and Soundscape A Cappella Chorus. The two choruses will also combine their voices to perform the 2026 World Singing Day Song of the Year, “Room for Everyone.”
The focus will also shift from the performers to everyone gathered at the park, with a community singalong inviting the audience to add their own voices.
No choir experience or musical training is needed to participate.
“World Singing Day isn’t about who has the best voice,” said Elvera Collier, Director of Peace Arch Chorus. “It’s about what happens when people sing together. For a little while, the differences between us matter less, and we get to experience the simple joy of making music together.”
